Looking for a Poison Ivy Cure

Author: Dean Novosat

Have you ever had poison ivy, or possibly poison oak? These nasty rashes can put a serious damper on your day, week, or month! These itchy afflictions are not simple to cope with, and can essentially drive you insane. What you need is a good and effective poison ivy cure to dab on your mess of tiny bumps. Be careful how you go about this, or you could end up spreading it to more areas of your body and/or face. Poison ivy is so very contagious and it spreads easily by contact. It seems like the minute you start itching, you want to start scratching it or rubbing it. Better to grab some poison ivy cure instead of scratching.

Remember back when you were a kid and you played outside, without a care in the world? You frolicked absurdly though bushes and weeds unknown to the untrained eye. We used to go hiking as kids through all kinds of brush and weeds. And we had no idea what poison ivy looked like. But I always seemed to find it. It always started on my legs. I guess the lower limbs are always the most likely victims. My mother would stick me straight into an oatmeal bath to calm the irritation. I did like this since it caused the horrific itching to subside. I guess you could call it a poison ivy cure. This event was typically followed by a liberal application of Calamine or Caladryl lotion. You certainly can remember the pink stuff. This is probably the most popular and most used poison ivy cure of all time. Who hasn't been painted with the drying lotion at one time or another? Calamine lotion is fine for a child, however it is not so stylish when you're 30 and wearing a suit. Good thing they make clear Caladryl lotion these days.

One less frequent application for a poison ivy cure is the cortisone shot. You've probably heard of it, but many people have never gotten the cortisone shot for a poison ivy sure. I can't say that I have. However, I have taken one on my children to the family doctor to acquire one. She suffered from a bad case of poison ivy and I was looking for a quick and efficient poison ivy cure. This stuff wipes out any itching! Her poison ivy faded in no time. The next time you're in search of an effective poison ivy cure, you may want to consult your physician for answers.
